On May 11, 2007, The Toronto Star published an article about the affect of having same-sex parents. The article reports that the Canadian government has been hiding report on same-sex parenting, since the report, while not explicitly mentioning marriage, provides plenty of evidence that gay unions are good for children. Paul Hastings, Concordia University psychologist, obtained a copy under the Access to Information Act. Hastings has analyzed over 100 studies and has come to the conclusion that children raised by same-sex parents are not very different fr0m those raised by heterosexual couples.
The only problem that children with gay parents face is discrimination. Some of these children are teased, bullied, and may face social isolation. This is a serious problem that can lead to the child committing suicide. However the studies that Hastings analyzed show that same-sex parents are better at neutilizing the discrimination than heterosexual couples.

I can understand that children of homosexual couples may recieve torment from other children, but bullying and teasing are issues that most, if not all children face at some point in their lives. Furthermore, I'm not sure I understand your reasoning behind the claim that "same-sex parents are better at neutralizing discrimination". There are many aspects to people's lives that can face discrimination, sexual orientation being only one. So why should homosexuals be any better than, say, African- American, Native American, Jewish, or female parents at neutralizing discrimination?
I understand what you are asking hearth35. Of coarse children from all different backgrounds are teased and bullied. However according to the article that I used to write this post the researcher, Paul Hastings, believes that same-sex parents are better at neutilizing the discrimination. This is not my own personal view. I am currently having trouble linking the article to my page but if you would like to take a look at the article I have cited it on my blog.
I think that this was a very interesting blog because many people do believe that there will be a difference in the kids if they aren't raised by different sex parents. This was good that you presented that there are actually no differences usually except for the children may be teased.
